Brief Overview of SABU SABU is the organizing and controlling body of Target Rifle, F-Class and .303 Shooting in South Africa. It is managed by a National Council in which the Provincial Rifle Associations, the SA National Defense Force and the SABU Veterans Club are represented. The Provincial Rifle Associations affiliated to SABU are: Eastern Province, Free State, Gauteng, Griqualand West, KwaZulu Natal, Mpumalanga, Gauteng North, North-West and Western Province. The administrative headquarters of SABU is in Pretoria whereas the SA Open Championships are usually held at the General De Wet Rifle Range at the SA National Defense Force De Brug training area near Bloemfontein. In these pages you will find information on the sport both at a national and provincial level. News, history, the official rule book in a downloadable interactive form (portable document format) and details of the National Open Championships with information for competitors and overseas visitors - in fact this is the source point for information on Bisley Shooting in South Africa. The results of the SA Open Championships, as well as provincial championships, will be posted to this site during or shortly after the meeting. It is intended to provide news and other information associated with the Provincial Rifle Associations via their own dedicated web pages as information becomes available.
